What the World Needs

What everyone needs is to have a weekend like I've just had. Relaxation, fun, good food, family & friends. Really, it was beyond fabulous! I am sorry to see it end, but I'm hopeful that this week will be just as wonderful.
Saturday morning I hung out with Grandma Penticuff while my parents went to the basketball games at church. We visited with my Great-Grandparents (Sorrells), we went to pick out a new pair of tennis shoes for me, and we played at my house. It was a great morning, even with the weather being so cold and yucky!
When mommy and daddy got home I showed them my shoes and I was super excited that daddy was home! He had the whole weekend off and we had some great quality time together. We went on lots of walks and played when mommy made dinners and laughed a whole bunch. I took a micro-nap. That is what mommy has decided to call the very short naps that I have decided to take the last few days. I yawn and rub my eyes but when my parents put me in bed I talk to myself, yell at them and carry on and THEN sleep for a few minutes and THEN get back up!
Saturday night I had a great surprise. Uncle Lawrence and Aunts Sara were in town and so we ALL got to go out to dinner together. Me, Levi, Lawrence, Sara, Pa, Grandma, Mommy and Daddy went to Carlos O'Kelly's where we dined on chips, french fries, chicken and ketchup! Well, that is what me and Levi ate, I have no idea what the grown ups ate. We were very entertaining to everybody around and had a great, great time! We all sat in a big booth so me and my cousin got to climb ALL OVER the place in our little corner of the restaurant.
Today was just fabulous. I got up, put on a new dress and headed to the church. It wasn't too long after I got there that my buddies from the nursery arrived and it was play time. I had to take off my shoes because it was just a little annoying to try and run in dress shoes! I played and played and passed out sippy cups to all my friends. I read books and ate cheerios, put together a puzzle and became fascinated by baby Hunter.
After church we came home and had a great lunch that mommy made. I ate very well and then my parents played with me until nap time. Another micro-nap for me and then it was time to get up and head back to church. More playing and then, before I knew it, it was time to come home again. Daddy went back to work and me and mommy played, ate dinner, and watched a little bit of the Amazing Race together. I was pretty tuckered out by bed time. No complaints from me when mommy said it was time for bed. I curled right up, gave momma a smile and headed to dream land.
What a WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Almost Wordless Day

I didn't take a nap today so I went full force for lots of hours! That means I am pooped out right now. I played at the mall, I cried at the mall, I played at home, I played at the gym in the church, I played some more in the house, ate a great dinner that mommy made, took a bath, played some more and FINALLY hit the bed!!! Here are some picture of me!

Big Girl Sandwich

Again I have to tell you, a lot has happened in a week! Me and mommy are so sorry we haven't been on here but we've been trying to figure out Facebook and we've been talking to people that mommy hasn't seen in a long time and who haven't even met me yet! So of course I had to catch them up on my 18 months of life!!!
This last week has been so good for me. Me and daddy and mommy spent most of the day at the church last Friday and so I got LOTS of running done. That gym is so much fun!!! HOWEVER, I am not so sure about the new Upward mascot...it is a platypus and it is a bit too scary for me. Friday night I stayed with Grandma Filler while mommy and daddy had 55 kids at a party. I got to play at my house. Saturday morning I got to do the same thing! Play and Play and Play. Saturday night mommy and daddy went to dinner and a movie for Valentine's Day. Me and Grandma and Grandpa Penticuff hung out together. We had the run of the place since all the Academy kids were home for the weekend. I really had a great time.
This week was pretty normal: going to Granny's house, visiting my great-grandparents (Sorrell and Filler), seeing the ladies on Tuesday night. But Wednesday was a little bit different. Me and mommy and Grandma Filler went to the hospital to visit with my family. My Great Uncle Bob had to have open heart surgery and so I went over to keep everybody happy (and on their toes) while he was with the doctors. You would not believe how big that place is. I walked and walked and walked and walked and walked. Not only did I walk all over the 2nd floor, but then I walked back to the car when we were all done. The great news is that my uncle is doing well, the other great news is that I got to meet another cousin that I'd never met before. His name is Stephen and he is from North Carolina. THEN I got to meet a brand new baby named Parker. He was just born and in a few weeks he is going to stay with me and mommy while his mommy goes to work. He was so little and I was quite fascinated with his little feet. We didn't stay long though because he was just born and he needed to rest with his mommy!
Today I got to see Levi for a while. We haven't been hanging out much this last week because our parents have been so very busy with other stuff. It was great to see him today. He opened the door for me and we ran all over our grandma and pa's house together. I have sure missed him!
Tonight I went to Subway for dinner. I got my usual meal: turkey, cheese, tomatoes and white bread with apples and milk. However, I showed mommy that I no longer need her to take it all apart for me. I can eat it like a big girl!! The grown ups laughed watching me. I am really getting old.
You'll never guess what I got today! Me and daddy went to check the mail and there was a letter from Washington! I got a Valentine from my friend Carol!! THANKS CAROL! I was so excited!!
I think that catches you up. We'll be better about keeping you updated. Facebook is already old hat and I am ready to get back to blogging!!!

Family Day

Great News! My daddy is off work for a few days and it is great. Me and daddy and mommy spent almost the whole day together. We started out this morning by shopping. Mommy and daddy had to buy a ton of stuff for a party at church for the kids and so I got to sit in the cart and eat donut holes! It was so great and I loved it. Well, the first 2 stores I loved and then by the time we got to Wal Mart I was ready to go home.
I got to walk around Wal Mart and look at toys and then daddy even bought me some more bananas before we left. Lunch was good and I watched Madagascar 2 while I sat in my high chair. Uncle Patrick stopped by for just a few minutes and watched me eat. Then it was time to take a little nap.
After my nap mommy went out for a little bit and so me and daddy met Grandma Penticuff for a little bit. We went to Dairy Queen and then to Marsh. I walked all around until I just had to sit down and rest for a moment. It was so much fun to check out the grocery store and not have to sit in the car the whole time.
Next we went home, met up with mommy and headed to Meijer. I decided to sit in the cart for this short visit. Mommy had to pick up a couple of things for tomorrow and so I relaxed and watched all the people shopping. I did decide to walk out to the car and so that was even more exercise for me.
We came home, I got a bath and then I went straight to bed. I did so much walking and so much shopping and had such a good day that I was ready to put my head down and relax. Having daddy home all day and all evening is so great. I just know we are going to have a wonderful weekend together. I even got to play with daddy's wallet tonight. I just know that when he opens it and swipes a card, I usually get something good. I am going to have to try that on my own sometime!

Singing Sticks

Today was interesting. I should have known something was up when I woke up and looked at my hair. Seriously people, I am not sure it has EVER been this WILD! And as wild as my hair was, I am not sure that I cared a whole bunch because I just didn't feel 100%. Don't get me wrong, mommy and daddy said I was a trooper because they just thought I had a yucky cold, but I could just tell something was a bit off.
So I got up and hung out with daddy for a few minutes while mommy took Tabatha to school. When she got home we immediately started looking for the DVD case that HAD to go back to the library today. When I say "we looked" I really mean that my parents looked and I continued to play with toys by dumping them all over the floor. But anyway, luckily mommy found the case (it was from a Veggie Tales dvd that I loved to carry around) and we got it ready to take back to the library. Daddy got to go back to bed for a little bit since he had worked late last night.
So mommy made me get dressed and, thank heavens, she fixed my hair! I think this is the first time I got to stand on the toilet (don't worry the lid was down) while she got my hair wet and combed it down. It took some elbow grease, but finally it stayed down!! We woke daddy up and then headed out the door.
I discovered pretty quickly that it was time for my doctor appointment. 18 months old means you gotta go see the doc. I did an EXCELLENT JOB! We found out that I weigh 25 pounds and that I am 33.5 inches tall. Dr. Byrn listened to my chest a lot because I have lots of congestion. I did a super job letting him check my ears and my mouth and all that good stuff. He discovered that I have an ear infection in my right ear and a sinus infection! No wonder I was a bit off this morning. Don't worry though, my doc gave me some medicine that will make me much better soon. I did get 1 shot, but I didn't even flinch when the nurse gave it to me.
After that I got to put all my clothes on and we hit the road. We went to Walgreens to get my medicine and a new toothbrush and then we went home. I had some lunch (and I mean just some because I didn't eat much) and then played a few minutes. I took a good nap and then me and mommy went to Subway to meet Grandma and Pa, Lawrence, Sara and Levi!
This was Tuesday so me and Levi got to go to my Great Grandparents Fillers house and play. Boy we played a ton and it was so much fun. Then it was time to come home, take a bath, talk to mommy and the girls (Tuesday night is girls night at our house), and then head to bed. I took my medicine and it was so good that I wanted MORE!!! Mommy had to wrestle me for the syringe, but I finally gave up and hit the sack.
I'm leaving you with a video of me and my singing sticks from yesterday. I don't know why, but I sure do feel like singing every time I pick them up!!!

Calling Washington

Hey Everybody! I have been having a great time these last few days. I can't even remember all the great stuff I've done, but I remember that Saturday I spent the morning with Grandpa and Grandma Penticuff. We went to see my Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Sorrell and we went to see my Great Grandma Penticuff!! I had such a fun time with everybody. Then Saturday night I got to see Uncle Lawrence, Aunt Sara, Levi, Grandma and Pa Filler. They all came to my house! Me and Levi watched Madagascar 2, which I OWN (so does Levi)! The grown ups played with us and talked a bunch. It was so much fun!!!
Then Sunday was church day. As we drove up over the overpass and I saw the building I started saying, "church," "church." I have so much fun there. I get to see lots of people and play with my friends and I really LOVE the new GYM!!! Mommy says before I know it I will be playing basketball and cheerleading like the kids now!
Today was Granny Conner's day. We had a great time over there. Uncle Patrick also got us Madagascar to watch at their house and so me and Levi watched it. I also enjoyed carrying around Aunt Clata's purse and waving and saying "BYEBYE" to everybody. OH and I cannot forget to tell you that Aunt Ruth brought me and Levi donut holes and they were delicious!!! I decided to make them my lunch! Today was the last time Aunt Clata and Uncle Bob get to come for a little while because Uncle Bob has to have surgery next week for his heart. I will sure miss them but I know that they'll be back before we know it!
This afternoon I took a short nap and then got to visit with Lizzy for a little bit. She was doing some work with daddy and so they came to say hi to me. When they left I helped mommy make dinner. Well, it was dinner #1. We had some pasta and it was okay but I just was not really hungry. Later Uncle Patrick came over and we played. He brought me a telephone and I tried to call Carol on it but for some reason it wasn't working right. However, I went ahead and had a conversation with her. You can hear the convo on my little movie here.
Daddy came home from work and we played. I started to eat dinner #2, but decided I wasn't really hungry then either. Mommy says I better eat or I am going to bed and will be hungry later. I just don't have time to eat. Too much stuff to do!!!!!
Tomorrow is doctor day. I go for my 18 month visit. I hope it is quick and painless!!! I'll have to let you know. I've been talking up a storm the last few days and I am sure the doc will be impressed with me.

Smiling Face

Well, it has been a few days since you've seen my smiling face so I want to say HELLO! It has been really busy at our house so me and mommy haven't been able to keep you updated very well. The kids at church are playing Upward Basketball so mommy is there a lot. Daddy has been working bunches and is working this weekend, too. I have been learning several new words and testing my parents and getting into new messes and getting so tall that my parents have to do a whole new level of "toddler proofing!" BUsy, BUSY, busy, BUSY!
This morning my parents left a pan of brownies on the table and by the time daddy caught up with me I had a big fist full! What a GREAT breakfast!!! And I am getting good at taking mommy's keys and putting them in different places. I am also good at turning on the oven in the kitchen (unfortunately my parents hardly let me in that room anymore) and changing the dvd's in the machine. It is magic...push buttons...put in disc....see Elmo (or Madagascar or whatever else I might find).
I have been getting to spend quite a bit of time with my grandparents lately, too. Last Saturday and Monday night I spent with Grandma Penticuff. We had a great time. We took breakfast to my great grandparents and I had biscuits and gravy and ran all around the house. Then Tuesday night I spent with Pa Filler and we went over to see my other great grandparents. We had beef and noodles for dinner and when I told mommy later she was jealous because that is one of her FAVORITE meals!
Today may be a bit more low key because it is ZERO DEGREES OUTSIDE! Mommy went out this morning to take Tabatha to school and she said it was so cold that she never warmed up in the car!!! So I am guessing that I'll probably just hang out around the house and play. I do not like the cold one bit. I am ready for spring time when I can quit wearing coats and run in the sun!
