______________ is Cool!

Guess what is so very cool??? MY NEW SCHOOL! That is right, this is the big week for me. Today I went with mommy and daddy to see my new school and meet my teachers and see my classroom!! It was so great!
I was super excited this morning. I knew last night when I went to bed that today was the day, so I got up really early at 6:00am today! I played with my cousins and then picked out my outfit for the big meet and greet. Then I even let mommy put pretties in my hair without pitching a fit (which I usually do). Then I told her I wanted a clip in my hair, too so I would have "big girl hair."
Me and my parents walked into my school and I already knew it was the place for me. I was ready to take off for my classroom before mommy and daddy even finished their paper work!
Finally they finished all the grown-up stuff and we headed to my class! I met a girl named Miss Katie who helped me make a balloon for the bulletin board and she showed me my very own cubbie where I will put my bag every day. Then I got to play with lots of cool toys while mommy and daddy did some more grown-up talk. Apparently they figured out what party mommy would help with this year and also picked a special day just for me when I get to be the line leader and all kinds of other special stuff.
I got to meet a frog (stuffed) named FLASH. I hear that he will get to come home with me sometime and play with me. I am just so excited about this whole school thing. SO EXCITED, in fact, that I did NOT want to leave today!
Mommy and daddy let me play for a while. I played some by myself and then I played with a couple of other kids who were there with their mommy and daddy. Oh, and I have to tell you that MY PARENTS were the goofy ones with the camera!! Thank goodness they didn't embarrass me too much. They only took a couple of pictures.
So I've seen my room, I know my teacher's name is Mrs. Todd and her helper is Miss Jamie and I already know my way from the big doors to my room. I am ALL SET TO GO!!!
I know I am ready....I kind of wonder if my mommy is yet. I heard she teared up when the director was talking about taking field trips!!! I just have to remind her that I am growing up in front of her eyes!
I can't wait until THURSDAY when I get to go to school and stay!

Note Worthy

The last few days have been great! A few very note worthy things have happened around here. First, my grandma's birthday was last week and so she got to come to my house and spend the afternoon with me. It was so much fun because me and mommy made her a special pink cake just for her! We had a great celebration together.
Next, Levi and Evan are coming back to my house since school has started for their mommy. We haven't missed a beat! PLAYING is our number one priority!
Then, I got to spend the night with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Donna Friday night. It was a blast! Mommy and daddy came up Saturday evening to have dinner with us and I got to show off my new "TWINKLE TOES" shoes that I have been wanting. I am all ready for school now!
Lastly, I am rearing to go to my dance class!! I've got my tap and ballet shoes and two pretty pink leotards. AND my grandma and pa got me my very own PINK DANCE BACKPACK! I am already practicing carrying it around with all my stuff in it. It is a sparkly bag and I just love it. I've also been practicing in my tap shoes. As you can see from the pictures I need to get the right kind of socks...but the shoes are wonderfully noisy on the floor and my leotards help me dance so very gracefully!!
Yes, some very noteworthy things have been happening in my house lately!

Makes Sense

Mommy: Lynley, can you sing a little quieter? You are screaming?

Lynley: No, I need to sing loud.

Mommy: Lynley, can you please sing softer? It is hurting my head.

Lynley: Mommy, I'm a ROCK STAR. I have to sing LOUD.

Enough Said.

What a Wednesday

After what felt like weeks and weeks and weeks....DADDY HAD A DAY OFF! That is right. My daddy finally got to spend a whole day with me and didn't have to go to work. So we had to make the most of the day! We started out with a stop to the library where I actually got my OWN library card. (Wow! You turn three and all at once a whole new world opens up!)
After the library we headed to lunch at Carlos. We had some great food and then went to work off some calories at Chuck E. Cheese! It was great fun. Daddy hasn't been able to go with us the last few times we've been there so I made sure to show him ALL AROUND! We played and played and I tried just about every game.
I went to visit Aunt Ruthie and Baxter when we left there. I had a great time playing with Baxter. I love that he will lay down right beside me and let me pet him. He is my great buddy.
I ended the evening with dinner that daddy made me and a bath. I had to get some good sleep because my three year check up was just around the corner and I wanted to be well rested. Daddy's day off was great and I can't wait for the next one!

P.S. Dr. Byrne says I am doing great. I am pretty tall for my age and after I told him all about my Dora birthday cake he is convinced that I am doing "quite well developmentally." Mommy and daddy were really proud of me for doing what Dr. Byrne asked me to do. My doctor even gave me a book to take home. It was a good visit and he said no more shots until I am 5!!

Lions and Tigers and....LLAMAS???

Saturday morning I got ready for an adventure with Grandpa Dave, Grandma Donna and mommy. We headed to the Indianapolis to check out the Indiana State Fair. I had a really great time seeing animals, riding rides (and a big train) and getting some hands on experience "driving" a bus, playing in corn and soybeans and doing lots of walking!!
It was a little warm out, but I really enjoyed walking through the barns checking out the llamas, horses, goats/sheep, rabbits, chickens and cows. I was not so excited about the pigs!! You would NOT believe what those pigs do!! They "poop on the floor instead of going to the potty." (This is a direct quote from me.)
I think maybe next year me and Grandpa Dave will get our own llama and show it in the fair. It will have to live with Grandpa Dave, but I will sure help feed it and brush it! Grandpa will probably have to take care of the other things involved in raising a llama, but I think it sounds like a GRAND idea!!
We spent several hours checking out all the fair had to offer, including the semi truck ride that I VERY MUCH enjoyed! I got to make a t-shirt in one of the buildings and I had some really great chocolate in another building.
It was a fabulous adventure that ended with me sleeping VERY WELL Saturday night!!

A Birthday Letter from Mommy and Daddy

Dear Lynley,

What a beautiful, wonderful little lady you are becoming! We can hardly believe how quickly you are growing and learning. Oh how God has blessed us by allowing us to be your mommy and daddy!
Already, in three short years, you have brought joy to SO MANY people! Your smile lights up a room, your laugh cracks others up, your sense of humor is like that of one so much older, and your love for life is contagious! You always have a song in your heart and it spills out for others to hear. We love listening to you sing as you bike down the sidewalk, play with your dolls, or make "recipes" in the bath tub. We love to hear you use the words "actually" and "as a matter of fact" just because you can. We love to see you preform on a stage and to see how you can turn anything into a microphone.
You make friends easily, you are concerned for others (especially your cousins) and every single day you teach your mommy and daddy something new! You are teaching us even as we are trying to teach you.
Our prayer for our AMAZING little lady is that you will continue to love others as you grow, that you will continue to make a difference to those you meet, that you will continue to have a song in your heart, and that church (God's house) will continue to be like home to you.
You are our very, very special baby girl...a gift that ONLY God could have given...our precious little princess.
Happy Third Birthday!
We love you So Much,
Mommy & Daddy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Today was a great birthday! I woke up to mommy singing, "Happy Birthday!" Then daddy and mommy sang and I opened my presents. I got ready and we went to the beauty shop to have my finger nails and toe nails painted (and open more presents). I picked pink for my fingers and bright GREEN for my toes!!!
After the beauty shop, me and mommy and grandma headed to the big city of Indianapolis! We went to a "big girl lunch" at Olive Garden where I had some great spaghetti and breadsticks!! My waiter even gave me cheese 5 different times for my spaghetti and he gave me extra chocolate when I left since it was my birthday!
THEN we headed to the bookstore where mommy got me a princess movie that I've been wanting. AND THEN we went to Chuck E. Cheese and played and played. I even got to meet Chuck E. I followed him around for a few minutes until I was sure about him. I gave him high fives, hugs and thumbs up signs for about 20 minutes!!
Once we left our play time we went to a gourmet cupcake store where I got to pick out a "Miss Princess" cupcake for my birthday!! It was really good and I especially loved that I could eat the crown on top!
We left the big city and headed for Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Sara's house. Me and my cousins played in the pool for a very long time. I loved it!! We had a great time playing in the pool, in the back yard and then having dinner. After dinner we went on a bike ride and it was a blast!
I am so tired tonight!! It has been a great birthday and I can't believe I am actually THREE YEARS OLD! I am such a big girl!!
Lots of special people called me today and sang happy birthday and wished me a good day! I smiled each time and was so happy. It was a great, great day!!
