Christmas in January?

Well this post will end my catch up sessions on my wonderful Christmas. Life is crazy in the Douglas house and when we aren't so busy I can't blog, we're trying to avoid the computer or I just plain forget!

December 26th was another great day. When I woke up, daddy put me in my boots and coat and just let me keep my pajamas on. I was really excited about that, and after 3 stops to go to the bathroom, we landed at Grandpa Dave and Grandma Donna's house. The whole family was there (Grandpa Dave, Grandma Donna, Aunt Emily, Uncle Tim, Uncle Adam and Christy) and I filled them in on my life. I ran around a bit, chased Grandpa Dave and then sat down to have breakfast with the family. We had Cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole and it was really good! I finished much faster than everyone else, so I jumped down from my seat and began entertaining myself.

Eventually everyone finished with breakfast and I found out that Santa had left a stocking for me in Marion! I don't know how he knew I would get there, but I've learned that Santa is one smart guy!! So I got to open my stocking and play with lots of fun things! I got some bubbles, a Dora Watch, and all kinds of great toys! I played with each of them while the grown ups opened their stockings.

I was really happy and couldn't even believe it when I found out that it was time to open presents AGAIN! I decided that taking my time was the best way to go, so I opened one...played a bunch...opened another one....played a bunch...etc. I was super excited to see that I got a pink microphone that matches my pink stage perfectly! I got a McDonalds Cash register! I got a barbie, that I lovingly call "darby" and I got a pink camera to take my very own pictures!! I got 2 percussion sets, which have been great because me and Levi have started our own band!! I even got a learning board with a clock on it!!! I got so many great things that I can't even remember them all right now! I spent the rest of the morning/early afternoon playing with my family.

When it was time to leave we got in the car and I asked one of my favorite questions, "Where I going, mommy?" And she told me we were going to Pa and Grandma's house! Can you believe it? MORE TIME WITH MY AWESOME FAMILY! So we drove back home and I was so excited about everything that I didn't even take a nap in the car!

I was so excited when we arrived at Pa's house and the lights were on outside the house! I love seeing Tiger and Winnie the Pooh in their trains, the candy that lights up the sidewalk and all the pretty lights on the house. And then when I got inside the excitement kept building because my cousins were already there!!

We played and played and stopped only to eat some dinner. We had a great meal and even greater desserts!!! Pa made us some cookies that were delicious! THEN mommy said it was time to open MORE PRESENTS! I know what you are thinking...you are thinking that I don't need any more presents for a very long time! You are RIGHT, but I am sure enjoying playing with all that I have!!

We opened our presents and then it was serious PLAY TIME! Me and Levi got THOMAS tracks and trains that we had to play with. I also got my very own GARFIELD movie to take home!! It is so exciting to wake up now and be able to watch Garfield whenever I want to!! I got a dress up outfit that has wings just like Tinkerbell, too! It would take all day to tell you all the presents I got...so I will just tell you that I am one blessed and loved little girl! Me and my cousins and family played until it was late and time to go home and head to bed! I was ONE TIRED TODDLER!

I know it took forever to tell you about Christmas, and I know I didn't do it justice because I only have a few minutes to write each entry on my blog, but the important thing I want you to know is that I had a WONDERFULLY AMAZING TIME with my family over the whole Christmas break! I know I am VERY LOVED, VERY BLESSED and VERY HAPPY!

I hope all of you had a good Christmas, too. And...Carol, I think next year you should come to the Conner Christmas! Just an idea!!!

Still Pretending

We're still pretending that it is my Christmas Holiday, so that makes today December 25th. What a great time I had!! When I woke up in the morning (not until after 8:00am), my mom and dad both came to get me out of bed. They informed me that Santa had indeed been to our living room and I had lots to see! I went into the living room and found that not only Santa had visited, but Patrick, Granny, Grandma and Pa were all waiting on me!
Mommy gave me my stocking and it took a good 10 minutes for me to get through it. I still like to open one thing, play and then continue with the next present. After my stocking I started opening my presents. I know you won't believe me when I tell you that it took 2 hours to get through my presents, but it did! Each gift needed equal play time, and I even decided to play with some older toys so they wouldn't get jealous.
The grown ups decided to eat breakfast right in the middle of the festivities to give me some play time and I even snacked on a couple of donuts. I opened so many things!!! I got a Clifford dog and a dvd, mega blocks, a magna doodle, Little People toys, a Hannah Montana guitar (and I am awesome on that thing), bells, panties, THOMAS THE TRAIN STUFF, and SO MUCH MORE!!! Every thing was wonderful, but one wonderful thing was the PINK STAGE my pa and grandma made for me. See, I love to stand on anything that is raised up and sing my heart out. So grandma and pa made me a stage that fits in my living room so I can sing all the time!!! I put on a couple of concerts before everybody left and I think we all enjoyed it.
Eventually grandma and pa and Patrick and granny all had to leave. I got to play with my toys a little more and lounge around. We all got ready and headed to my Aunt Debbie and Uncle Greg's house for the Sorrell Christmas. I ate some wonderful chips and dip and cheese and hung out with the family. AND I got MORE PRESENTS! I was a bit overwhelmed with how many gifts I'd opened already, so I took my time once again....Open gift, run into the kitchen, play with my cousin Alex, come back and open a gift. This is how my routine went.
We stayed as long as we could and then mommy packed up my new baby, tent, movies and other goodies so we could drive across town for the Filler Christmas. Once there I ate some ham and chocolate cake and then geared up for some more gifts. Me and Levi played with our toys together and we also played with our cousins, Luke and Michael. Evan was getting passed around to all the adults and I made sure to talk to him lots so he didn't feel left out.
By the end of the evening I was pooped out, and I think mommy and daddy were, too! We said our goodbyes to Grandma and Grandpa Filler, Jimmy, my aunts and uncles and grandma and pa and then we headed home! I really wanted to stay up and play with my toys...but my eyelids wouldn't stay open and I knew that we had one more day of Christmas to look forward to!
Before we went to bed I had a snack and we sat at the table and talked about Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus...who I sometimes confuse with Baby Evan! We all wanted to make sure to remember that Christmas time is so much fun, but it about WAY MORE than gifts!!! It is really about Baby Jesus being born. So we talked, ate, and then headed to bed feeling loved and blessed!

Back to Normal

Well life has gone back to the norm. Daddy went back to work Sunday and so me and mommy started our routine back. So, now I need to catch you up about my Christmas.
Let's pretend it is Christmas Eve, because that is when my festivities began!
Christmas Eve me and mommy and daddy slept in a bit. It was great! We lounged around in our pajamas until about 10:30am and then started to get ready. Around noon we were walking into Grandpa Joe and Grammy's house. I immediately gave hugs to Grammy, Grandpa Joe and Aunt Emily. Then I headed to the family room where the rocking horse was calling my name. I played and played and I took a few breaks to eat. Grandpa Joe and Grammy let me wear an elf hat while we played. Oh, and I fed the rocking horse because I just knew he was hungry. Eventually everyone got there and we opened presents. I know you are thinking that I tore into my presents very quickly! I started out that way, but I soon realized that I preferred to open a present, go play some, and then come back to open the next present. It really made my presents last longer! So that is exactly what I did....play, open a present and play with it, then go play some more in the family room, then come back and open a new present and play with it!
I did get through all my presents and then I ran around letting Uncle Adam chase me around the house. Time really flew and, before I knew it, it as time to head out. I gave lots of hugs and then we headed to Granny Conner's house.
Granny's was a great time, too! We started out with dinner and it was AWESOME! I love ham and that is what we had. I sat at the table with Levi and our cousin Mason. We ate a little and played a lot! THEN it was time for more presents! I opened most of them in a row this time. Grandma sat on one side of me and mommy on the other. They tried to keep me on task. As soon as I finished opening everything...it was SERIOUS PLAY TIME! We ran around the entire house playing...I especially enjoyed the new recorder I got because me and my cousins became a marching band playing our very colorful instruments! I also swept the floors with my new vacuum while wearing a new pink feather boa. Talk about fun times!
The whole day was perfect, the best way to start our Christmas extravaganza! My family really loves me, too, and they presented me with great gifts of fabulous toys & clothes!! I know I am ONE VERY BLESSED LITTLE LADY!

Did You Know it is Snowing?

I am not quite sure why grown ups grown when it snows. After my experience this afternoon I think snow is AWESOME! First, it meant that we got to stay in our jammies for much of the morning. Then it meant I got to go play in the snow this afternoon. I made snow angels and I went "sledding" through the yard. It was a great time!
I know I have lots to update you on about my Christmas and New Years! Don't worry...I will be on here soon to fill you in. It is hard to find good help these days and my secretary hasn't been on top of it! No worries though, I will give you great details about my last 2 weeks!
