Thank You, Mr. Sun

Dear Mr. Sun,

Thank you for coming out today. Because you decided to visit, I got to visit the park with my cousins, Levi and Evan. I got to run and climb and crawl and walk....all without a heavy coat. Since you decided to light up the sky, I got to watch mommy pull out short sleeve shirts and shorts to put in my drawers (for days when you come out again). I enjoyed having our windows open and wearing my crocs and realizing that flip flop weather is just around the corner, and all of this happened because you were shining.
It is hard to believe that the last time I was playing at our park I could not go down the slide without someone to sit me at the top and someone else to be at the bottom to catch me. Today I was a professional. I sat myself down and I slid without worrying about anyone to hold me. It is impossible that just a few months ago, before all the snow, I couldn't cross the "jumping bridge" without falling and pinching my fingers. Today I ran across the bridge with no assistance, and no fear. And can you believe I couldn't cross the balance beam bridge unless I crawled on my hands and knees? Today I walked across like a gymnast as one who has been training for years.
So, thank you, Mr. Sun. Thank You for putting smiles on my face, for warming me and shining on my hair. I had a great, sunny day!
