PARTY!

This is me when I saw my cake for the first time!!! SUPER EXCITED!

I've been having a great time celebrating my birthday so far! Yesterday I got a whole day of surprises with grandma and pa while mommy baked and decorated my cake for today. We went to Indianapolis (back to Build a Bear) and to lots of other fun places. I even tried on clothes in a big girl dressing room! It was a great day!!
Today was my first birthday party with my cousin Levi! We had a blast and I was soooo blessed to have lots of people who love me come to celebrate with me!! When it was all over I was sure to tell mommy, "This was awesome!"

Let the Celebrating BEGIN!

August 6th was a HUGE day for my family 3 years ago. SOO, we've decided it was so big that it is going to take us a week to celebrate it! I don't know if this gets to happen every year from now on, but I really like that my birthday celebration will last for so long THIS YEAR!
It all started with a big day yesterday. I got up (earlier than usual for this summer) and picked out my clothes. I got all ready and then headed to Indianapolis with mommy and grandma. I was very excited and sang all the way down there because I knew that we were going to Build a Bear to make a new friend.
If you've never made a friend at Build a Bear I highly recommend you go! I was so excited when I got there that I had to check the whole place out. When it was time to start I picked out who I wanted my new friend to be. I picked out a Hello Kitty "skin" and took it over to a very nice lady who found out we were celebrating my birthday. She gave me a great birthday sticker and then she showed me how to make my bear.
I got to pick out a sound for my kitty to make. I picked out a very special birthday song, so now every time I press my kitty's foot she sings A Beary Happy Birthday to me! I also got to get a heart for my kitty. I put it up to my head and closed my eyes to make a wish that my kitty would always be happy. I rubbed it on my tummy so my kitty would never get hungry and I gave it a big kiss. Then we put it inside my kitty.
After that I got to put the stuffing in my bear! I got to press a pedal with my foot and stuffing from a big machine started going into my kitty to make her the perfect size! That might have been one of the coolest parts! I checked her out by giving her a squeeze and, after deciding she was the right size, the lady sewed her up for me.
Next I had to give her a bath. I took her to the bath tub and pushed another pedal to start her air bath. It was like a shower but with air instead of water. I scrubbed her with a brush and made sure she was nice and clean. Then the shopping REALLY began!!
Mommy said I got to pick out one outfit for my kitty and also one pair of shoes. It was a very had decision. You would not believe how many pretty outfits they have for the animals. I saw Disney outfits (my favorite was Ariel), skirt outfits, short outfits, pant outfits, and much more!! And don't even get me started on the shoes. There were slippers, sketchers, tennis shoes, boots, sandals, high heels and every kind of other shoe you could imagine!!
Like I said, it was a bit of a decision, but I was really in love with the ballerina outfit! It was a beautiful pink tutu dress with a pair of ballet slippers. AND mommy let me get a pair of Hello Kitty panties for her to wear underneath her clothes! AND because the shoes came with my outfit, mommy said I could pick out a SECOND pair of shoes!!! I picked out some GREAT pink sandals with just the right amount of bling on them. AND the ballet outfit came with a pretty bow for her hair, as well!!!
I took my new friend to the dressing room and, with the help of grandma, I got her all dressed. She was beautiful and I was so excited that I jumped up and down while giving her hugs. She was just perfect!
And then I got to thinking that she really needed some other accessories. What girl can live on just one outfit? So I looked at strollers, sunglasses, cars (yes, cars...convertibles at that), purses and chairs. I really fell in love with a chair that I knew would look great in our living room. I carried it around the store for quite a while just telling mommy how perfect it would be for my perfect kitty.
I carried the chair while we registered my kitty and got her birth certificate started. I carried it while I thought of a name for my kitty. I carried it until mommy agreed that it would be a great addition to our living room!
Once I got the okay on the chair, I needed to really think about a name. Mommy and grandma asked me what I wanted to name her (and I think they were holding their breath before I answered). I IMMEDIATELY answered that I wanted to name her LeeLee. They asked me a few more times before mommy typed it in the computer, but I was quite sure that my kitty should be named LeeLee.
Our Build a Bear experience was coming to an end. We took LeeLee to be packaged up in her house. The lady let me pick out a few extra bows to take with me so I would have different colors for the many outfits that she thought I might come back and buy on other days. She told me to have a Happy Birthday and enjoy my new friend LeeLee!
I walked out of Build a Bear one happy young lady!! The fun didn't stop, though, because we headed to the Crocs store to check out shoes! I found many lovely pairs, but I fell in love with one. There were pink and I didn't want to take them off! I also scoped out a Tinker Bell and a Dora to stick in them! AND because we were in the celebrating mood, mommy said I could get the shoes!
We left the mall with my purchases and headed back to Muncie. I talked to LeeLee on the way home and also told mommy and grandma I wanted Chuck E. Cheese for lunch. We made a compromise because I don't think mommy really wanted pizza. I agreed to pick somewhere else to eat and THEN we would go to Chuck E. Cheese. I picked one of my favorites, Carlos O'Kelly's. We had chips and cheese and all kinds of goodies. LeeLee got to go in and sit with us while we ate! But I reminded mommy a few times that we still needed to go to Chuck E. Cheese.
With our bellies full we headed over for fun and games. I played and played and made some new friends. I chased some older boys up the tree house and was quite thrilled that they played the chase game with me. After an hour and a half I was still certain I could stay longer!
I agreed to leave when I realized there was more fun to be had! I got to run in the rain to my car!!! I made sure to take my time getting in so the rain could get us nice and soaked and then it was time to come home.
We didn't stay long, a trip to the library and to church were still on our list of things to do. After those stops were finished, I headed home for some dinner, playing and FINALLY BED!
Oh what a day it was!! It was so much fun and I am so excited because we still have parties and surprises to lead up to my birthday!! Yes, sir, August 6th was a big day 3 years ago and it will need lots of celebrating this year!

There is NO better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Conversation of the Day

Lynley: "Mommy, I am going to just go to the cemetery today."

Mommy: "What? We aren't going to the cemetery. We are going to church."

Lynley: "I know. I am going to go with you to the cemetery. I am not going to my class."

Mommy: "You mean the SANCTUARY?"

Lynley: "Yeah, that. I am going to the SANCTUARY with you."
